Here at Firtree Swimming Pool, we offer private pool hire near Durham. Our swimming pool is a saltwater pool and is 11m x 5.3m. The shallow end is 0.8m deep, and the deep end is 1.5m deep. Heated between 30 and 32 degrees, you can enjoy a comfortable swim in our beautifully appointed pool. We are open to hiring between the hours of 9am and 9pm Tuesday to Saturday. Enjoy the pool for a full hour at a time. We have separate changing rooms for each hourly group, allowing you to get pool ready before your hour starts. And leaving you plenty of time to change after your full-hour swim.

Prices, numbers, facilities and accessibility

Our private swimming pool can be hired for £40 per hour. A maximum of 8 people can be in the pool at any one time. If you have children, there must be at least one responsible adult supervising at all times. There is seating around the pool to relax in. Please do not bring any food or drink into the pool premises. We have showers, toilets and hairdryers onsite, and you will need to bring your own towels. Additionally, we have an Alexa that you can talk to for your choice of music and volume control. Please let us know if you have additional needs upon booking. We have wheelchair ramps for access, but we do not have a hoist for pool entry or exit.

Saltwater pool for a gentler experience

Our pool is a saltwater pool. Because we need to use fewer chemical additives it makes our pool a more eco-friendly swimming pool. Less chlorine is produced in saltwater pools. A big advantage of saltwater swimming pools is the experience. It feels much more silky, smooth and soft like swimming in fresh or ocean water. And the benefits continue after your swim. Unlike a chlorine pool that leaves your skin feeling dry and sometimes itchy and your eyes burning, saltwater pools do not. Usually, your skin feels moisturised and supple after being in a saltwater pool.
